Dear Music Students and Parents/Guardians,

The Edmonton Cantando Festival trip is less than one month away!

A Reminder that the NBCHS Music Department uniform is the same as last year.  All students need to provide their own Black dress pants, Black socks and Black shoes, and a White, long-sleeve dress shirt with a collar.   The music department has extra shirts, shoes and pants if students fail to provide their own. 

*** The Departure Date has changed from Saturday April 25^th to Sunday April 26^th.  Please make the necessary adjustments to your schedule.

The fees for the trip cover the following:  Hotel, Registration, Meals, Activities and Transportation.  If students want to have spending money for shopping that will have to bring that separately.

5:30am – Arrive at School

5:45: Bus Leaves for Edmonton

10:00: Arrive at the Winspear Center

11:00 – 11:30am:  Concert Band Performance – Winspear Centre

12:00: Lunch Downtown

1:00 – 2:00: Listen to other groups perform

3:00 – 5:00: Science Center

6:00 – Supper: Food Court for Supper (Downtown)

8:00 – 9:30 – Edmonton Wind Sinfonia – Winspear Center

10:00 – Back to Hotel

10:00 – Lights out!

Monday April 27^th

7:00 – 8:20:  Wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast. 

8:20: Leave the Hotel

12:00 – 12:45:  Mass Trumpet Reheasal – University of Alberta

1:00 – 1:50: Concert Band Workshop – University of Alberta

2:30 – 5:30: West Edmonton Mall!!   Students have choice of Galaxyland or Waterpark

6:30 – 7:45: Mass Trumpet Dress Rehearsal

8:00 – 9:30: Mass Trumpet Concert

10:00 – Back to Hotel

10:00 – Lights out!

Tuesday April 28^th

7:00 – 8:20:  Wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast. 

8:30: Leave the Hotel

9:30 – 11:00: Jazz Band Performance and Workshop – University of Alberta

11:30 – 12:15:  Lunch

1:00 – 3:30: School Performance:  David Hoyle (david.hoyle@epsb.ca) at Spruce Avenue

4:00 – Mass Choir Sectionals

5:00 – Choir Rehearsal

6:00 – 7:00pm Old Spaghetti factory for Supper

8:00 – 9:30 Massed Choir Concert at the Winspear

10:00 – Back to Hotel

10:00 – Lights out!

Wednesday April 29^th

7:00 – 8:20:  Wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast. 

8:30 – Leaves the Hotel

9:00 – 10:30: Choir Performance and Workshop – All Saints Anglican Cathedral

11:00 – 12:00 – Lunch

12:30 – 1:00 – Masterclass at University

1:00 – Head home!

5:30– Back in North Battleford!
